Container Lifting Device
Because a small town like El Calafate has no crane to lower the container off the truck, Jim and Greg designed a simple but strong lift device with a chain hoist. Times four.
They have been built and tested to lift a corner of the currently empty container. Start with steel plate, 4 inch center post, and 5 inch outer "slider rings." Add pin for safety stop. Everything is "super-sized." Lots of cutting, welding, bolting, drilling, and chain hoisting by Dean, Jim, and Stewart. Thanks to Einar, Bumper and Greg for design input!
